Bertani Domains: from Milano Wine Week to La Vendemmia di via Montenapoleone wine festival

For one full week, Milan gives itself over to the celebration of wine in all its forms with a jam-packed calendar: from 6 to 13 October, both "Milano Wine Week" and "La Vendemmia di Via Montenapoleone" run simultaneously.

Bertani Domains played a starring role, with a vertical tasting of Amarone Classico at Palazzo Bovara: a tasting that explores the value of the passage of time through five wines from five different decades: 2010, 2005, 1981, 1975 and 1967.

Wine also met fashion, for a worthy cause: Italy’s finest wines came together in “La Vendemmia di Via Montenapoleone”, the Milan event that brings the country’s most prestigious wine brands into the great boutiques that line the famous shopping street. Not only was this a joyous celebration of Made in Italy excellence, but the “Italian Masters - The best of Italian wines for a good cause” charity auction was held by the famous auction house Christie’s on Tuesday, at Palazzo Clerici. The auction saw some true works of art go under the hammer: lots from Italy’s finest wine producers, including the “Archivio Storico” of Bertani’s Amarone Classico (vintages 2009, 2008, 2007). The charity aspect came into play with the proceeds of the auction (€45,000 in total), all of which will go to Dynamo Camp, a non-profit organisation which offers recreational therapy programmes for children and teenagers affected by serious pathologies, as well as their families.
